Exhibitions and Collaborations
I’m very excited to be launching my new website ! As anyone who know me well, they will probably have a little smile on their faces as they will know I’m not the happiest at a keyboard. But after saying that, promoting my own artwork is not a chore and fills me with much pride.
I have recently had a great exhibition at Melodie 71 in Leeds. The exhibition name was ‘Gig Lit’ and was a collection of paintings of iconic and inspirational musicians, captured in their natural habitat, playing live and beautifully stage lit. The collection of portraits included David Byrne (Talking Heads), Elvis (68 Comeback Special), John Lennon, James Brown, Grace Jones, Jim Morrison (The Doors), Terry Hall (The Specials), Liam Gallagher (Oasis), Keith Flint (The Prodigy), Amy Winehouse, two individual portraits of Rhian Teesdale (Wet Leg) and one surprise painting of my friend’s son Jonny (a fantastic musician in his own right). This last painting was handed over to Jonny as a surprise gift from his dad (Martin) on the opening night of the exhibition.
Many thanks for the fantastic turn out on the night. It was truly fantastic to see everyone who came. Also, a huge thank you to the staff at Melodie 71 who were brilliant and who also make the venue a real pleasurable place. Thanks also to Simon Hulme, the fantastic (award winning) photographer from The Yorkshire Post.

Collaborations
Just before Christmas 25, I began another collaboration with old pal and fellow Leeds artist, Nicolas Dixon. We have worked together on a few jobs now and it’s always a pleasure. Nick has a fantastic and unique style and his work is visible all around the city, as well as abroad. Watching his patterns, symbols and colours come together is truly an experience. I was asked to collaborate to add the portraits of Leeds United legends Eddie Gray and John Sheridan and the Leeds United badges of their particular eras. The job also included MOD, SKA and motifs from early 80’s Casuals sub cultures. A real personal trip down memory lane for the client.
